Hey Railsberry folks! Hope you all got back home safe and sound after Railsberry!

Great vibe and energy filled the Applicake HQ this week! So many pictures, videos, tweets from you guys. And soooo many good memories… We put them into one Railsberry story. We also uploaded some pics here and two preview videos of the Day 1 and Day 2. More will follow soon so stay tuned!

We’re going offline for a couple of days. It’s a looong weekend in Poland (in fact, a whole free week and we’ll be back on the 7th of May. So all video recordings, pictures and presentations will be ready by mid May.

Railsberry Jam was designed to make your conference experience even more fun. And we hope it did! We managed to cover around 50% of Railsberry attendees with the iOS version. And together with the Android one – 76%!

With just one day left to Railsberry we have a little surprise for you. To make your life at the conference even sweeter we’ve made two mobile apps (iOS & Android!) that will be your local Kraków companion!

The Railsberry Jam will send you live news, local tips and last-minute changes to the agenda. In addition, you can expect party locations, jokes, random yays – pretty much everything that could make your KRK experience more fun!

What kind of news can you expect? Well, there are four types of notifications:

Updates – anything conference related (i.e. agenda, breaks, venue)

Tips – cool stuff to do or great places to eat at in Krakow.

Party – updates on the afterparties and other great place to party in Krakow.

Random yays and lots of love from Applicake peeps

Go now to the AppStore or Google’s Play and grab the one you prefer!

TIP! Railsberry Jam will ask you for permission to receive push notifications. Just to state the obvious – it’s a mechanism that lets us notify you of Railsberry updates even when you’re not using our app. We promise not to spam you too much

IMPORTANT! An update for the iOS version will hit the AppStore late Wednesday (i.e. today) or early Thursday. And you definitely should get it once it’s available.

Yay! More programming goodness! We’re happy to announce that thanks to joint efforts of our Sugar Daddy Tropo and our hacker friends at Future Simple, this Wednesday we will give you an opportunity to hack together something cool at the Railsberry Hackathon! You can expect some sweeeeet coding (details below), great discussions, like-minded people, GoPro cameras, food, drinks and fun!

Few ideas & problems that could be creatively tackled:

• Programming conference calls and automated surveys
• Processing voice recognition and speech-to-text APIs
• Capturing and parsing incoming text messages (SMS)
• Everything else that is fun and creative with any API of your choice
